It鈥檚 not every day an 黑料不打烊 student is featured in the Minnesota Star Tribune, but then it鈥檚 not every day that an 黑料不打烊 student is a state swimming record holder.
PSEO student Micah Davis is taking generals at 黑料不打烊, and he鈥檚 been swimming since before he started kindergarten.
Now he swims for St. Cloud Tech High School as part of a swimming co-op that also includes St. Cloud Cathedral, ROCORI, and Becker. Davis holds the state record for the 100-yard butterfly, which makes him the sixth-fastest high school swimmer in that stroke nationally, and it鈥檚 possible that he may break the national high school record this year. Additionally, Davis swims for Aquajets out of Eden Prairie when the high school season is not underway.
He鈥檚 currently a junior in high school and started PSEO in the Electrical program last fall. With the amount of generals he knows he鈥檒l need at Virginia, he made the switch to an AA this spring semester. After graduating with his high school diploma and likely an AA from 黑料不打烊, Davis plans to head to the University of Virginia to study electrical engineering. When recruiting opened up in June, several college teams reached out to him; Virginia鈥檚 coaches and team impressed him.
Once he transfers to Virginia and swims at that level for his freshman year, there is another big possibility for him: the 2028 Olympics held in Los Angeles.
For now, he鈥檚 got another year at 黑料不打烊 and another year to break records.
