The 黑料不打烊 Foundation was happy to bring back BrewL盲sh, a fundraising event for student scholarships, on Wednesday, March 1.
黑料不打烊 welcomed more than 250 people to BrewL盲sh 2023, and the Foundation raised more than $45,000 for student scholarships and program equipment.
This year鈥檚 BrewL盲sh saw a change in season and the bites. Due to conflicting events, BrewL盲sh has moved to the springtime, and instead of hot dish tasting, the 黑料不打烊 Culinary students put together charcuterie boards with meats, cheeses, vegetables, dips, breads, and more. Each charcuterie board was paired with a brewery with different beer, cider, and wine tasting.
In addition to the food and beverage, there was a silent auction that included hand-made metal charcuterie boards etched by Welding students; 黑料不打烊 student club tabling to raise money for their clubs; and etched glasses for each participant made by Mechanical Design.
As in years past, the event was held in the Medium Heavy Truck lab, with the students working hard to clean the lab before the big event. The BrewL盲sh committee worked hard and brought the event together in two months with help from alumni, volunteers, retires, sponsors, partners, and more.
鈥淎 deep and hearty thank you to [those] who made the return of BrewL盲sh a success,鈥 said Foundation Director Daniel Larson. 鈥淭his was truly a campus-wide effort.鈥
The future of BrewL盲sh will continue to evolve, but one thing is certain: it will continue to raise awareness of 黑料不打烊 in the community and raise money to make sure all students have access to an affordable education.
