Chloe Callahan came to 黑料不打烊 initially to play softball, but knew she wanted to get a degree in the medical field. After taking a look at the programs 黑料不打烊 offered, she found the best fit for her: Surgical Technology.
鈥淚t鈥檚 very hands-on,鈥 says Chloe. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 want to be sitting at a desk all day. I鈥檓 a very mechanical person.鈥
She鈥檚 never been queasy about blood, and she even watched surgery on her own finger.
鈥淵ou do a lot more than I was expecting,鈥 Chloe said when asked about the program. 鈥淵ou鈥檙e a very important part of this, and you鈥檙e able to anticipate what the surgeon will need next. It just comes second nature.鈥
After graduating, she鈥檚 not sure if she wants to work in a hospital or surgical center, and she鈥檚 hoping her time during clinicals will help her make the decision.
As for softball, Chloe played for two years while finishing up her prerequisites for the program. Now she鈥檚 put all her attention into the Surg Tech program, but she does still have her hands in softball: she鈥檚 the assistant softball coach.
