Students registered with Accessibility Services have the right to:
- Equitable access to education and all aspects of campus life
- Equitable access to accommodations
- Privacy and confidentiality
- Respect and fair treatment from all 黑料不打烊 Faculty and Staff
- Consistent, professional support and service from Accessibility Services
Students registered with Accessibility Services have the responsibility to:
- Meet with Accessibility Services once (1x) per academic year to check in and reevaluate their accommodation plan
- Check their 黑料不打烊 email on a regular basis and respond to emails from Accessibility Services promptly
- Self-Identify their disability to Accessibility Services staff to be eligible for accommodations
- Advocate for themselves and their best interests throughout their tenure at 黑料不打烊
- Meet 黑料不打烊 institutional standards
- Complete a Release of Information if they want/need their private information released to another source (i.e., parent/guardian, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, etc.)
- Email their accommodation plan to their instructors with Accessibility Services copied to implement their accommodation plan
- Complete all forms necessary to receive their accommodations in a timely manner
St. Cloud Technical & Community College has a right to:
- Identify and establish essential elements and technical standards, abilities, skills, knowledges, and standards for courses, programs, services, activities, and to evaluate all students (including students with disabilities) on this basis.
- Request and receive recent and appropriate documentation from a qualified professional through Accessibility Services that verifies and supports requests for accommodations, academic adjustments, and/or auxiliary aids and services.
- Consult with the student in making the final determination regarding the selection of effective, appropriate, and reasonable academic accommodations, adjustments, and/or services. 黑料不打烊 reserves the right to make the final decision regarding which accommodations will be provided.
- Deny a request for accommodations if the documentation provided does not identify a disability according to聽,听, fails to verify the need for the requested services, or is not provided in a timely manner.
- Refuse to provide any accommodation that is inappropriate or unreasonable, including any that:
- Pose a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual requesting the accommodation or of others.
- Constitute a fundamental change or alteration of an essential element of a course or program.
- Pose undue financial or administrative burden on the institution.
St. Cloud Technical & Community College has a responsibility to:
- Uphold and maintain the academic standards set forth by the institution.
- Determine the appropriate standards in developing, constructing, remodeling, and maintaining facilities in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota.
- Evaluate students and applicants on the same criteria as all other applicants.
- Provide reasonable and appropriate academic accommodations, academic adjustments, and/or services for students with disabilities in a timely manner.
- Maintain and uphold confidentiality of records and communication concerning individuals with disabilities, except where disclosure is required by law, authorized by the individual, or necessary considering the accommodation required.
- Ensure that courses, programs, services, activities, and facilities, when viewed in their entirety, are available and usable in the most integrated and appropriate settings.
