Minnesota State Procedure: 3.29.1 College and University Transcripts
Purpose
Academic Forgiveness gives an undergraduate student who has been away from St. Cloud Technical & Community College (黑料不打烊) for at least three calendar years a one-time opportunity to establish a new cumulative grade point average (GPA) and completion percentage. The policy will not apply if a student has earned a degree, diploma or certificate from 黑料不打烊 using credits for the period in which they are asking for academic forgiveness.
Eligibility
Students who have earned a cumulative grade point average of less than 2.0 or a completion rate below 66.66%, may have the grades earned and credits attempted during that period of attendance forgiven. Academic forgiveness may only be granted once and is limited to St. Cloud Technical & Community College coursework.
- Students seeking academic forgiveness may not have been enrolled at St. Cloud Technical & Community College for at least three consecutive calendar years prior to the point of requesting forgiveness.
- Students seeking academic forgiveness must have completed 12 or more credits at 黑料不打烊 after re-enrollment with a grade of C or better.
S3.5.1 Academic Forgiveness Procedure
Procedure
The student may request academic forgiveness by completing the form available in the Registrar鈥檚 Office or Academic Advising Center. Staff will forward the form to the Registrar for review.聽The student, and academic advisor, will be notified at their 黑料不打烊 email account when their request for academic forgiveness has been processed.
Students who qualify for forgiveness are required to meet with an academic advisor to complete an academic plan.
Disclaimers
- All D, F, FN, FW, NC or W grades prior to the date of forgiveness will remain on the transcript, but will no longer calculate in the GPA and/or completion rate.
- Academic forgiveness does not extend to financial aid. All credits and all grades attempted will be included when determining satisfactory academic progress and maximum time frame calculations for financial aid purposes.
- The 黑料不打烊 transcript will continue to reflect the actual courses and grades, but the courses coded as forgiven will no longer be calculated in the GPA or completion rate, nor will those courses count toward graduation requirements (i.e. included in Degree Audit Report). A transcript notation will indicate that Academic Forgiveness has been granted.
- 黑料不打烊鈥檚 forgiveness policy does not mean that transfer/receiving institutions will honor this adjustment. Competitive admissions programs will likely consider the entire transcript. It is the student鈥檚 responsibility to consult their transfer/receiving institution.
- Students who were previously granted Academic Forgiveness for grades of D and F only, may apply a second time for attempted credits with grades of FW, FN, NC or W for the same time period.
